Abstract

The miocardiopaty spongiform is a new form of illness miocárdica of the non classifiable type, of genetic origin that is characterized by prominent trabeculaciones and recesses miocárdicos that affect the wall apical fundamentally and lateral of the left and less frequent ventricle the right. Clinically it is manifested by heart inadequacy, arrhythmias and phenomena embólicos. The ecocardiografía and the magnetic resonance constitute the key methods for the diagnosis. An uncommon case is presented in a patient geriatric that debuts with a crisis of quick ventricular heart and symptoms of sharp heart inadequacy. It is evidenced by ecocardiograma the diagnosis of this entity that is presented more frequent in adolescents and young adults, and has a low prevalancia in elderly.
