The populational aging has conditioned I not increase him of the chronic illnesses transmissible which
condition great dependence and they take to abuse situations for the biggest adults. From the decade
of the 80 and until the present time, many organizations already recognized it like a problem in health.
Local works that give the abuse or violence in the grown-ups like a problem of health exist.
The objective of this work was to know the behavior of the violence in the environment of the
consultation of Geriatrics of the Policlínico in a period of 6 months. Their distribution for sex, groups of
ages and educational level. To identify the types of violence according to sex, to know the clinical
manifestations but you frequent of the violence. To identify the illnesses and situations related with the
violence and to know who constituted the main .
Material and Method. A descriptive study of traverse court was made, the data were picked up through interviews previously designed the patients and/or family. You uses the scale of Yesavage Charts and/or graphics were designed, they were considered%. Results. The violence occupies 41% of all those assisted in the consultation., the feminine sex was the most affected one, the psychological violence prevails: the screams, insults and threats like their main manifestations. The Insanity was the biggest causing dentor in the ECNT and the daughters arise as
the main maltratadoras. Conclusion. The violence especially the psychological one constitutes a problem of health (41%) in our area.
