Registro digital para personas cuidadoras de pacientes dependientes en la tercera edad (Proyecto Prevención del Pie Diabético)

Abstract

Introduction: Information technologies will allow us to make great advances in document management through the web application in health areas. Computerization allows processes to be carried out more agilely and efficiently. 

Objective: To develop a digital resource for the digital registration and monitoring of carers of dependent elderly patients. 

Methods: Applied research was carried out, with a laboratory or experimental design. A data reliability test was conducted through an experiment for data processing. Data collection was performed through surveys to evaluate the level of satisfaction and interviews to analyze current processes and propose an effective solution. Descriptive statistics were used in the analysis and interpretation of the information. 

Results: This research aims to develop a web application that improves the work of the Elderly Caregivers Project for the Prevention of Diabetic Foot at the Cerro Policlinic in Havana and that can be used in any health unit in the territory. This web tool will facilitate the current way of working and allow for the proper recording of data of elderly caregivers with diabetic foot. Additionally, it will make it much easier to calculate percentages and the reports will be much more accurate regarding the data that needs to be evaluated. 

Conclusion: This application will enable the computerization of the management of care, caregivers, and patients, making the processes more agile and efficient.
