Physical Performance Tests have proven an effective tool for identifying elderly more
susceptible to disabilities. We performed an observational description of cross section, to
characterize the physical performance of the Municipality aging Revolution Square. The breadth of study was 316 older adults who underwent physical performance measurements, such as stride, force grip and balance. For the analysis pace and speed were measured. Step amplitude and cadence. The results show that 68% of older adults studied show good performance in walking speed, with values above 0.83 m / s, the amplitude of the step, cadence and gait speed were inversely related to the age, as well as grip strength decreased more in women than in men with age. Duration of the balance is a test that enables diagnosis of bad performance
earlier, as recognized even when variables such as gait speed, are normal.
