Utilización de antimicrobianos controlados en el Hospital Calixto García

The use and antimicrobials abuse in the hospitals are increasing the resistant antimicrobials. This investigation to evaluate the antimicrobials use controlled in the Hospital Calixto García, by means of a study of use of medications of type prescription - descriptive, traverse and retrospective indication. The data were taken of the Registration of cases of the Committee of Antibiotics of the Hospital and by means of the revision of the patients' Clinical Histories. Results: The 1024 cases were valued tried with antimicrobials parenterals of last generations, and 82 of these patients received treatment with Cefepime and Meropenem, the biggest percentage in the patients was mature bigger, most of the patients came from the closed services (57.8%). Of the alone total of cases to a small group (18%) he/she was carried out some study microbiológico and inside the detected germs, the Pseudomona aeruginosa occupies the first place, the Estafilococos aureus, the Acinetobacter spp follows it. As for the prescribed antibiotics, we find: Ceftriaxona (530 cases), Amikacina (158 cases) and Ceftazidima (123 cases), Previously to the administration of the Cefepime or the Meropenem they were administered three antibiotic treatments almost on the average to the patients.
